StephenMoss_Profile.jpg

Stephen Moss is a designer and art director living in Brooklyn. His expertise is in building brands and developing strong in-house design departments for retail companies.

I have over 15 years of experience designing for companies that make and sell things: Perfume. Make-up. Fashion. Home decor. Gifts. Kitchen gadgets. Beef jerky. From small businesses and start-ups to global companies, I understand how to adapt, scale and grow brands.

Design process

Every design project presented started with research. Each decision had a purpose. My creative ideas begin with sketches on paper; through developed storytelling, the ideas and designs are polished until ready to impress.

In-house design

Choosing in-house work over agency work allows me to see every working piece of a company while realizing how design can help them excel.

Fragrance and beauty

My recent employment has been focused in the beauty industry: Victoria’s Secret, Tru Fragrance, and Coty Inc. The products ranged from $10–$200, from small quantity tests to large-scale production runs, from new client pitches to global campaign launches. The products have been fine fragrances, mass-market commercial products, color cosmetics, and body care. I’ve worked closely with every side of the design process, including concept, design, engineering for commercial production, and campaign photography.
